Get to Know Brett A. Gilman Attorney at Law

Since being licensed to practice law in 1993, I, Brett A. Gilman, have dedicated my career to helping clients navigate estate planning, probates, and related legal matters. My journey began at Santa Barbara City College, where I developed a passion for learning, and later brought me to Chico, CA, where I graduated from California State University, Chico in 1987.

After completing law school in 1992 and working my way through as a restaurant employee, I opened my own practice with the goal of serving individuals and families directly. With more than 30 years of experience, I have had the privilege of guiding clients through wills, trusts, and probate processes during some of the most important moments in their lives.

My commitment is especially to those in their 40s, 50s, and older, who want to secure their legacy or handle the affairs of loved ones with confidence. What sets my practice apart is my personal approach: I answer my own phone, prepare every document myself, and meet personally with each client. I take time to explain the law in clear terms, ensuring clients fully understand every step and feel supported throughout the process.
